Is there a dress code?
Yes, every class at Art in Motion Dance Academy has a dress code.

What is the Royal Academy Program?
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) offers a graded syllabus for students from beginner to professional levels. This program focuses on developing strong, yet graceful dancers with an elegant body carriage. RAD instruction also includes Character Dance, which is rooted in Royal and Folk traditions from the 16th century.

How does the Royal Academy level placement work?
RAD graded levels are determined by technical skill, body placement, core strength, and maturity. To advance to the next level, students must successfully pass the yearly examinations for their current level.

How many Ballet classes a week should my student take?
We recommend that students take at least two ballet classes per week to build a solid foundation in technique, skill, and body placement for RAD examinations.
Vocational Grade students should attend a minimum of three classes per week, along with a Stretch & Tone or PBT class for additional conditioning.

Does Art in Motion offer classes for Home School students?
Yes, we offer classes for Home School students. Whether in the morning or evening, we can create a group with a minimum of 5 students. Just gather a group of 5+ and we will open a time slot!

 

What level should I register my student for?
Student placement is based on technical skill, body placement, and core strength. Typically, age and maturity are also considered for proper class placement. Art in Motion ensures the best fit for your student to maximize learning and progress.

We offer Complimentary Trial classes so students can experience a class and help determine the appropriate level.
 

Does Art in Motion offer Adult classes?
Yes, we offer adult classes held in the evenings for fitness and enjoyment. Additionally, we can open morning classes with a minimum of 5 participants interested.
Current Adult classes include Ballet, Adult Salsa and Folklore.
